MK vs DC: The Game That Should Never Be

MK vs DC
Girls and Boys, sit down and I will tell you the story of a game that never should be; Once upon a time there was a great and magical series called Mortal Kombat and was a person favorite of your truly. But Mortal Kombat had be taken over by an evil parasite and its was devouring everything good about MK. On the other side of the world there was DC, it was a well known series of super heroes but the writers had a stick planted firmly up the arse so their characters become too powerful and too righteous removing all chance for a decent story. One day the parasite and the stick were drinking at the local pub and fell in love. They decided they would work together to destroy their respective series in one great and indisputable strike, Mortal Kombat for DC. They removed all the gore and fatilities and then I shed a single tear as they had finally killed Mortal Kombat. Oh well, Soul Calibur 4 will be out soon so I can get my jedi on.

Spiderman: Web of Shadows

Its looks like everyone favorite super villain is back and he brought friends. This teaser trailer for Spider: Web of Shadows shows an apocalyptic New York and speculation thinks that the symbiotes have invaded New York. IGN reports:

players choose to play as a heroic web-slinger or a volatile, destructive anti-hero, fighting with or against a vast number of fan-favorite Marvel heroes and villains, switching instantly between sides, and deciding which missions to undertake to save mankind.

Since the movies, Spider-man games have been a dime a dozen but this one really does look like it has the potential to be a blockbuster. The game will be available on all platforms.

Gelaskin

I love my PSP with features like Remote Play, RSS Feeds, and great games like Patapon. I do have one gripe with it; I have the silver PSP from the Daxter bundle, and its not that stylish. I’ve thought about picking up a skin for it but haven’t seen anything too attractive until today. For $20 a piece your PSP can be as cool as you think you are. The Gelaskins come with a two-piece front and back protective skin and screen protector to take care of all those scratches and dings the screen seems to get. Gelaskins are also available for the Nintendo DS and laptops.

Sony Ads – Like No Other

This might not technically be gaming related but its so awesome I couldn’t resist. These are old ads from 2005-2007 that make me truly believe humanity is worth saving, if only to make claymation bunnies in the middle of New York.

This first video had 250,000 bouncy balls released in San Fransisco and used no computer animation.

Another video showing you that you don’t need computers to make a good video; just a really big budget and 70,000 liters of paint.

This video took 3 weeks, 40 animators, and 2.5 tons of Play-Doh to create; the entire movie was shot in New York while its citizens carried on their daily lives or in the case of a many stopped and stared.

Vikings: Battle for Asgard is sitting on my shelf and I can’t bring myself to play it so I have been filling my gaming needs with Warhawk; At least until last night when I had the urge to play Metal Gear Solid for the first time. I went online and checked up on the essential collection that was released but Gamefly isn’t carrying it so I can’t get it on the cheap. I called up my brother and lucky for me he was still holding onto our old PS1 copy of Metal Gear Solid. I drove over there and after checking out him using my PSP to play Crisis Core and taking the liberty to update his PS3, I return to enjoy retro goodness. I’ve got to say it holds up well with age not like my last attempt to get retro, Jak and Daxter. The codecs are still annoying as piss and if MGS4 still has O as the action/accept button and X as the back button I will scream but this is not the time for looking towards the future, its retro time; atleast till GTA4 is released.
